Preparing for your appointment
Frequently Asked Questions
I’m nervous about getting a tattoo, can I bring someone with me for moral support?
Please bring no more than one person to accompany you. No one under 13 years of age is allowed in the shop.
How do I prepare for my appointment?
Get a good night's sleep.
Take a shower. Nobody wants to tattoo the smelly kid.
Be well hydrated and eat a big breakfast or lunch depending on your appointment time. If you are diabetic, prepare for a crash and plan accordingly.
For those on diets, this is your cheat day. Make it count!
Wear loose, comfortable clothing. The process can be messy and ink stains so don’t wear your Sunday best or brand new favorite outfit. Please choose clothing that makes the area being tattooed easily accessible.
Do not show up with damaged skin. If you have any cuts, bruises, burns (including sunburns), peeling or fresh tans your tattoo appointment may be canceled forfeiting your deposit.
Charge your phone and bring a charger if you plan to scroll social media, watch videos or listen to music while being tattooed.
Bring snacks and drinks especially if you are scheduled for a long period of time.
Bring your government issued photo ID (drivers license). No ID, no tattoo.
Don’t bring your kids or leave them in the car in the parking lot during your appointment.
Can I get a tattoo when I’m sick?
No, please stay home and contact your artist right away.
Can I use numbing cream, pain killers, drugs or alcohol to help with the pain and nerves?
Numbing cream is allowed. Alcohol and drugs do not help with the pain and we will not tattoo clients who appear to be under the influence forfeiting their deposit.
What happens if I’m late for my appointment?
Don’t be. Seriously, if you’re late it will throw our schedule off for the day. Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time.
How do I care for my tattoo after my appointment?
Please follow our aftercare instructions by using Ivory or Dove unscented bar soap and plain, white unscented hand lotion to properly care for your new tattoo. Scabbing, itching and flaking are all normal parts of the healing process.
