Mark Kannenberg
Owner and Artist
As a kid when asked what I wanted to do when I grew up, my answer was always art and music. I was in several bands in my teen years with the dream of becoming a rockstar musician. Obviously, that didn’t work out as I had hoped so that left me with art. I began tattooing in 2010 and couldn’t image myself doing anything else.
When the COVID-19 pandemic forced tattoo parlors to close in 2020, I tried painting to occupy my time. At first, I thought I was only going to paint for a couple weeks while we “flattened the curve”. Painting is now my “therapy” when I can’t be out riding my motorcycle.
Someday, when I’m ready to hang up my tattoo machines, my retirement goal is to be a stay-at-home dog Dad who paints and rides motorcycle all day and sings karaoke at night.

The man. The myth. The legend.
Even though the local tattooing legend has retired, you may still see him from time to time slinging some ink here.

Apprentice aka “Sparkles”
For as long as I can remember, I was always drawing on something. As I grew older, I went from scribbling on walls and floors (sorry, Mom and Dad) to drawing on myself and my peers with Sharpie markers in school. After graduating college in 2020, I went straight into the workforce. I continued drawing portraits of people and pets and was experimenting with as many mediums as I could to help build a strong portfolio.
I began tattooing as an apprentice at Mark*d_Up Tattoos in 2024. I am extremely honored to work alongside a couple of the most talented artists in the area. With their shared knowledge, I strive to live up to their legacy and leave a lasting impression on the tattoo industry.
